Ghost in the Shell live-action

So as of this year DreamWorks acquired the rights to make a live-action film of ghost in the shell manga. Steven Spielberg is tipping the scales in DreamWorks favor for the film. Hopefuly It will be good a good movie. But to me if it isnt anime it wont be as good as the original movie. Anime is Art! with the animation, the story and voice actors it becomes a masterpeice! A live-action on the other hand when theres already an anime version out might not be as good.

What do you guys think? How will it turn out?

[Its nice to see some comments on my blog! Thanks Guys!!]

I would think it would turn out similar to the Matrix, but without the box office success. Even if it isn't as good as the original animated version I'd still the first person in line to watch it. Here's to hoping there will be a 2010 release date.

I don't know, for some reason it strikes me that I wouldn't want to see a live Ghost version.
But, I am kinda looking forward to seeing the James Cameron version of Battle Angel - but that might be because it conjures up images of being very well done mech. And maybe it won't look the way I picture it at all......

Live action anime is an oxymoron. I agree that anime is art and has its own particular charm. Live action on the other hand is also art but it is a different art. They say art imitates life, then this would be one form of art imitating another form of art which would be IMHO forgery at best and mediocrity at worst.
